Afro-Brazilian rhythms with Mestre Val – Ogum toque

Here is a lesson Mestre Val had with Instrutor Gargamel – Stephen Clendinnen – learning Ogum toque.

Sometimes Mestre Val will focus on a specific instrument and teach Afro-Brazilian drumming or Rhythms from Samba from Bahia. In this video here, Inst. Gargamel (Stephen) is learning the toque for RUM.

The 3 Atabaque drums from Candomble are Rum, Pi, Le.

There really is no limit to what there is to learn with Capoeira & Afro-Brazilian cultural artforms. Learning alongside Advanced students like Stephen is a real joy :)

The Yemanja Ceremony at Ventana Festival is an extension of Mestre Val’s commitment to being a strong advocate in the community of Afro-Brazilian culture and bringing authentic Afro-Brazilian artforms to Australia.
